The Kota Doria fabric was once used only by royalties as a head turban, but over time, the fabric is used to weave Kota cotton sarees and Kota silk sarees which was considered auspicious and worn on religious occasions by royalties.
Earlier, the Rajasthani Kota saree was only made in two basic colours - white and beige. Recently, changes are being made to the Kota Doria fabric to have an endless amount of colours.
