Wherever we may live, whatever culture we may adopt, and whatever lifestyle we may pursue, we keep going back to the rudimental threads of our dressing and pick up timeless saree that oozes Indianness in every warp and woof. We, at Kankatala, realize the significance of this six yards of delight and the influence of its spread across the globe. Transcending its cosmetic boundaries, the saree stands for the lasting power of feminine spirit and strength. So, we launch the ‘Normalise the Saree’ campaign to encourage women to wear sarees and most importantly, to drape them with pride and confidence, event and environment notwithstanding. Here are a few divas who talk of saree that rule the world of fashion.
Here is Ms.Sowmya Kankatala, who is the forerunner in the Kankatala Normalise the Saree campaign. Keeping the family flag flying, she comes forward to endorse the most happening saree from the Kankatala counter and displays fascinating ways of draping a saree. A lover of nature and wildlife, Sowmya selects this animal print-inspired chiffon saree for Kankatala Normalise the Saree campaign and she pairs it with an edgy black top.
Oozing raw energy and conjuring up brave images, the saree becomes all hers. Grace and confidence seem to be her adornments as she unfolds the tale of a gorgeous saree on her own terms.
“I insist that a saree is the one and only attire that can be donned for any occasion. Whether I am addressing a room full of board members or taking a casual walk down the street, it is the saree I wear that gives me comfort and confidence,” says the ever-smiling Soumya.
“Celebrating my love for sarees, I chose this handpicked Animal Printed Chiffon/Georgette Saree from my personal collection. Armed with it, I joined the Kankatala Normalise The Saree movement this season.
Let’s continue to Normalise the Saree and empower ourselves and other women around us.
