If saree has been always the symbol of our tradition, it also stands for the power and strength of modern-day woman. Who can understand that better than the mighty Kankatala that has been dealing with sarees for decades? Going one step ahead, the textile giant has launched the Kankatala Normalise The Saree campaign. This drive is to boost confidence in woman to drape the versatile saree and be the star wherever she is.
Sonika Kankatala carries the legacy
Like charity, values too begin at home, establishes pretty Sonika Kankatala. Wearing a bright matka silk saree on the International Women’s Day, she leads the Kankatala Normalise The Saree campaign.
“I chose this six yards of elegance to celebrate the power of this timeless garment which has adorned women through generations,” says Sonika. But she doesn’t stop at that. Looking drop dead gorgeous, she breaks the myth that saree is only a traditional outfit.
“I paired it up with a corset top to prove the point that saree is much more than a mere tradition. As a millennial, I love exploring fashion but at the end of the day comfort in what I wear is what matters to me. That is what saree always gives me. I can look elegant without sacrificing my comfort. I also believe that every saree has a story to narrate. You only should have those sensitive ears to listen. I go with the Kankatala Normalise The Saree campaign as I am certain it is the saree that instils confidence and strength in women, wherever they are.”
