Sadhana Singh is a Hyderabad-based makeup artist, an ex-supermodel, and a social worker. Her accomplishments as a model, makeup artist, and social activist make her a multi-talented inspirational woman with great values.
“I LIVE TO LOVE! Someone who finds love and compassion in the welfare of animals is already living in heaven surrounded by angels. I live to care for the ones who give me selfless love.”, says Sadhna.
Early life
Sadhana Singh hails from Ayodhya, UP. However, she was born in Colaba Bombay and spent most of her childhood in Chennai and Goa. After 12th, she moved to Hyderabad to pursue higher education in medicine but she dropped out in a year and joined Frankfinn, an institute of Air Hostess training.
From being a science student, she shifted to the airline profession. Her charming personality and confidence soon landed her modelling opportunities. She gave 12 years of her life to a successful modelling career.
During these 12 years, she also participated in Femina Miss India where she was among the top five contestants. During her modelling journey, she made a friend who was an actor. One day that friend insisted she do her makeup and that’s how Sadhana recognised her exceptional makeup skills.
Journey as a makeup artist
Sadhna’s actor friend made her familiar with her talent as a makeup artist and her passion for the world of beauty. As a celebrity makeup artist, Sadhana catered to many popular celebs, including Samantha Prabhu, Vijay Raaz, Dev Mohan, Samyukta Hegde, Kajal Agarwal, and Mrunal Thakur.
She is admired for her creative and considerate approach to makeup. Her praiseworthy makeup skills enhance the different looks and complement diverse personalities, contributing to people’s lives, their special occasions, and their dreams.
Sadhana Singh’s social work
Besides being a successful celebrity makeup artist, her compassion for the service of mankind and animal welfare made her an active social worker. Social work and the acts of goodness keep her sane and make her happy. The thought of starving and helpless street animals deeply saddens her. She is inclined towards feeding the stray and helping the injured stray dog.
Whenever she gets informed about an injured dog through calls or messages, she tries to get volunteers for their treatment. She believes a true animal lover is someone who can see the miserable lives of strays and who would come forward to help these precious species with all the resources one has.
She is also a part of Devnath School for the Blind for the last 7-8 years where she devotes her time to teaching her makeup techniques to blind girls. However, she feels she is still learning how to communicate with them and teach them well.
She wants to help these girls build a skill that could support their dreams. She believes it is very important to be able to help someone and it is the biggest achievement to have a positive impact in someone’s life.
Message for younger women
When talking about her hurdles as a woman and a social worker, Sadhna Singh asserted that a lot of people evaluate everything in terms of money. She was asked multiple times about how she would make money by giving time to social work, but for her, the motto of life is to die as a good human.
Hence, her only advice to younger women is to invest their youthful energy and creative ideas in the right direction that not only secures their future but also brings them the satisfaction of making a valuable contribution to society.
